My Midori Traveler's Notebook - Quote Journal

Thursday, March 26, 2015

I've always loved quotes. The perfect quote can be that helpful little encouragement, that much needed perspective, or that bright spot of humor on a difficult day.

I started collecting quotes on a Pinterest board. After I bought my Traveler's Notebook, I decided to try my hand at lettering some of my favorites, using Sakura Micron and Gelly Roll Moonlight pens.

Later, I started experimenting with the Pentel Arts pocket brush pen.

I also tried an oblique pen holder and Nikko G nib.

Lately, I've been using Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens, and acrylic paint.

Do you collect quotes? If you do, where do you keep them?

  4. These are so fun and pretty! How did you get started with lettering? I've been wanting to try for a while, but I'm nervous and I don't know where to start.

    1. There's nothing to be nervous about :) I just started seeing hand lettering everywhere and thought it would be fun to try my hand at it. I did buy a few books but mostly it's just a LOT of practice, copying fonts that I find and like on Pinterest.

  5. I collect my quotes on my Pinterest board as well. Maybe I should start practicing more on my hand lettering.

  6. As a quote lover who pins quotes on Pinterest and recently discovered the Midori, I adore this! Your hand lettering skills are amazing! And please tell me where did you get all those beautiful clips from? Love them too!

  7. Hello there! I'm not sure if you still remember me, but I was the one who asked you in your IG account if you're FIlipino? I chanced upon your list of fave snacks and I found Boy Bawang's one of your faves.

Anyway, I just want to let you know that you have inspired me in so many ways, particularly in terms of putting art into jouraling. I find yours to be so clean but artsy at the same time. When I saw this post of yours about your love for quotes, I couldn't help but feel I can totally relate to you.

Keep up the great work and continue inspiring more people!

    Thanks!

  8. How do you keep your MTN flat to work on? Do you clip the two covers front to back or do you clip both sides onto something heavy?
